Beverly Hills North Homeowners Association
The Beverly Hills North Homeowners Assn. largely covers the area north of Wilshire, Santa Monica Bl. and Sunset Bl. It was founded when a member of the City Council suggested that a monorail should occupy the rights of way along Santa Monica Bl. Having won that battle, years ago, the association has taken on a larger role in community affairs. It notes that what happens in another part of town may also have adverse effects on its members' homes and quality of life. Chairman Victor Bardak's phone number is (310) 274-8147.

Municipal League of Beverly Hills
The oldest, and among the most comprehensive in its scope, is the Municipal League of Beverly Hills. Thomas White is its chairman and may be reached at (310) 657-9831. The Muni League is currently seeking adherence by the Council, to the same environmental impact reporting requirements on City-owned properties, as are mandated for private developers.

Concern for Tenants Rights
Representing renters, who make up 60% of Beverly Hills' residents, is Concern for Tenants Rights. Herm Shultz is its CEO at (310) 276-1916. CTR is seeking Council approval for ordinances prohibiting evictions without just cause, as well as requiring interest on security deposits.

Trousdale Estates Homeowner Association
West of West Hollywood and north of Sunset Bl., Trousdale was developed in 1955. Its vigilant homeowners association is now in the process of renewing its protective CC&Rs (Conditions, Covenants & Restrictions). These are deed restrictions on all properties in the tract.

Many years ago, they petitioned the city council to obtain a special height limit ordinance for their hillside neighborhood. It assures that no decks will be allowed to overhang a neighbor's property.

Alan E. Berlin is president and his phone number is (323) 655-6470.

Beverly Hills Estates Homeowners Association
Beverly Hills Estates Homeowners Assn. is largely concerned with hillside geology and construction issues north of Sunset Bl. and west of Beverly Dr. Contact: Mary Levin Cutler at (310) 275-1222.

The Beverly Hills South Homeowners Association
The newest area organization is The Beverly Hills South Home Owners Assn. It represents the interests of those living south of Santa Monica Bl. Traffic is among its greatest concerns, as is over-development of City-owned land in the business sections of the City, which impact adjacent residential properties. President is Authur Stone at (310) 276-4842.

Southwest Homeowners Association
Long defending the quality of residential life on the Southside is the Southwest Homeowners Assn. Recent successful battles waged, include helping to stop construction of a hotel on Wilshire at Linden, abutting a parochial school and near many homes. President is Ken Goldman
at (310) 522-0027.
